About This Project
The Kurdistan Medical City (KMC) is a greenfield medical city project in Erbil, Iraq that covers an approximately 108,000 sq. meters site. KMC features two main components: a 425 Bed Medical Complex and a 1,200 student Medical University (complete with student housing). This four phase medical city project is the first of its kind in Kurdistan, as well as the region. KMC focuses on building local healthcare capacity in Kurdistan and Iraq through the delivery of U.S. standard medical care, training, and continuing education.
The 425 Bed Medical Complex includes the following components:
- 250 Bed General Hospital
- Comprehensive Outpatient Medical Office Building with a 45 Bed ENT and plastics same-day surgery center
- 40 Bed Oncology Center
- 90 Bed Women and Children’s Hospital
The Medical University will provide degrees in general medicine, nursing, dentistry, hospital administration, and other related disciplines to students from the Kurdistan region and beyond. The University will be partnered with a leading U.S. medical teaching institution. The Medical University will assist in meeting the great need for medical professionals in the region.
